Tonight we played Portland, Oregon. Lovely town. The show was set up by a twitter friend of mine named Francine Raften. I tweeted that I needed a show in Oregon for the 50 States in 50 Days tour, and she responded. A few tweets later and we had our Oregon date confirmed. Twitter is amazing.

Kaci, Sean, and I played in Gig Harbor, Washington last night for the 2nd show of the 50 States in 50 Days tour……….had a fantastic time at Mindy and Michael O’Neils house……lovely people. We are rolling down the road as I write this to Portland, Oregon to play a show that I set up with a Twitter friend, Francine Raften (@buzzzzsaw).
She saw my tweet that I needed a show in Oregon for the 50 States in 50 Days tour, and within about 2 emails back and forth………the show was confirmed. I love it. It is a whole new world.
Anyway, here is the videologue from last night’s show……….i’m finally caught up on sleep. We had been sleeping for 3ish hours a night the past few days. So, look for videos every day from here on out! Not only has technology allowed us to videologue along the way, but you can literally follow us on the map via GPS…….we might just be rolling by your house, and will accept offers of coffee and donuts! I’m in Japan today. The last couple of days we spent rehearsing with the Japan-based band that will back me at the Paul Rusch Festival. Johnny Mackinnon and Sean Snook came from the UK for the tour. We had some interesting experiences over the past day or so……….I got some on video!

The 50 States in 50 Days tour will see us driving about 22,000 miles in my truck, and flying a few thousand as well. I estimated the fuel costs today, and it came out to $2494.70 for the entire tour! The 2009 50 States in 50 Days tour is rapidly approaching. I still need help booking house concerts in 23 States. I’m not worried, because it is part of the beauty of booking a tour with the help of your fans/friends, twitter, facebook, myspace……..on the 2008 50 States tour some of the best house concerts happened the DAY before the state was coming up. Dallas in particular.
It is about sharing, and connecting, and there is a story behind the whole idea of a crazy tour like this.
