Sitting outside a Holiday Inn Express…….grabbing the “free wireless”……had to resort to that since my mobile broadband is not working well on the road. Stayed overnight in Laramie to get an Orange Duffel Bag Story from a young lady that aged out of foster care, so we are a little behind schedule……plan, drive to Dickinson, North Dakota and jump into a hotel there…….then live stream via Ustream.
I had difficulties finding a house concert to play in North Dakota for this year’s 50 States in 50 Days tour, so will do this instead.

I found my interviewee via Elisa, who came to the show. She knew Becky from her gym. She brought her to Michael O’Neills house the morning after the Washington show……she got involved.
Becky was an amazingly strong individual. She aged out of foster care, and was a “mother” figure to her little brother. She has a bright future.

Last night we played Alaska. I sat down with Michelle Overstreet from Burchell High School in Wasilla to learn about teens in foster care, and homelessness. I left in tears…….
We play Portland, Oregon tomorrow night…..there are some seats left. Tonight in Gig Harbor, Washington is sold out! A good start to the 50 States in 50 Days tour.

Between now and Dec. 18th……I’ll literally not have a second “off”………last night I started emailing mp3’s of “Some Comfort” out to all of those that pre-ordered their copy. The overwhelming thought I had as I sat there copying and pasting each individual order into a file……..was that of gratitude.
They came in so fast of furiously when the call to action went out……and then I was immersed in the process of writing and recording the cd…..that last night was the first moment I had to do the tedious work of processing all the orders……..this gave me time to think about each and every person that showed faith in me by pre-ordering their copy of “Some Comfort”…….with you this cd would not be possible.
So, where do I stand with getting this cd completed? On the 22nd I will fly from London to Nashville…….hopefully record the last 2 songs on the 23rd/24th of Oct………Sean Snook will drive my truck from Nashville toward the first date of the 50 States in 50 States tour in Sacramento, CA…….I will fly and meet him somewhere along the way…..so, he won’t have to go it alone.

So, that is the status……I will be emailing out the finished tracks in the coming days……i’m working on it fast and furiously…….

The tour doesn’t officially start until Oct. 29th in Alaska, but I will be working my way across the US from Nashville, so will stop off in Sacramento on the way to Seattle.
