Live from my dining room-A special guest….Robert Reynolds

I hadn’t spoken to Robert Reynolds for 10 years at least. I’d watched his recovery in real time via his Instagram account, but hadn’t actually spoken to him.

We spent about 8 years traveling the world together in Kevin Montgomery and the Roadtrippers………and those were some amazing times.

Because I felt comfortable that he was on the right road…..I asked him to guest during my live stream last Sunday. We spoke briefly before we went live and I asked him if there was anything “off limits”…….he said, “no, I’m good. We’ve done enough interviews together over the years that I know you won’t be unkind”……….so with that being said, we went on-air.

We broadcast for about an hour and a half and then my internet went down……….we were more relaxed when we came back online……we had about a 10 minutes gap to gather our thoughts and emotions. He really opened up about things, played some beautiful new songs, examined things. It was special. I feel like he is on the right track. Watch the video below.

In the days since the webcast, Robert and I have talked about old times…..laughed…..and discussed possibly making some music together again. We wrote “Cherokee City” in my truck on the way to Lubbock…..and I suspect we have more songs in us. He suggested that we dip out toes in the water by doing some house concerts together and that his participation would be his contribution to making Good Thing. So, I’ve added a “Backyard Concert with Kevin and Robert” as a perk in the campaign. I’m excited about this.

I hope you will join me this Sunday at 8:30pm London time for my “Live from my dining Room” webcast……..which is 2:30pm Central US time. I’ll have a special guest appearing and we will play some music and chat.

I initially started webcasting to highlight the Indiegogo campaign to help make Good Thing, but now………maybe because of the realtime interaction with so many of you……..I’m looking forward to it all week and intend to make it an ongoing weekly podcast with special guests. With that in mind, please “subscribe” to my youtube channel and hit the “Bell” icon so you can be notified when I go live, or a new video is uploaded. Also, “like” my Facebook page…….that is where I broadcast live every Sunday.

The Fourth of July weekend special has been extended until Sunday morning……..with extreme discounts on the “perks” in the campaign to make a Good Thing. The campaign ends on Tuesday, so help me push it over the edge!

I put out a request on my Facebook page for my friends to send me any photos they had of Kevin Montgomery and the Roadtrippers. They responded handily. Last night I made this video of “Ooh Las Vegas” from the Live from Glasgow record. Robert sings the lead. Al Perkins plays guitar………lap steel……and sings the highest harmony. I sing harmony and nearly shred the strings off my J200……..Paul Deakin on drums, and Mike McAdam plays b-bender guitar. The interaction between Al Perkins and Mike McAdam is something to behold. Al played on the original Gram Parsons version of “Ooh Las Vegas” so it makes it all the more special. The fan provided photos from all those tours we did took me down memory lane…………loved it. Thank you.

Tune into the live webcast this Sunday on my Facebook page. And, check out the “perks” to help me push the campaign to make Good Thing over the edge!
