The UK/Ireland tour has begun. I’m joined by Louisiana’s Kelli Jones violin and vocals and Gregor Philp from Deacon Blue on guitar. Last night in Brighton Kelli slayed me with a few of her songs. And, I love singing with her.
I became aware of a song Dad wrote called “Two of a Kind” a few years ago. A man came up to me after a show and handed me a cd of songs that I had never heard. Turns out he recorded it with my mom as “Bob and Carol” on Warner Brothers Records, but it was never released. Roy Orbison did a version, but I prefer mom and dad’s…….it is hauntingly beautiful.
I’ve never done it live, but decided to try it with Kelli. This is from our rehearsal a couple of nights ago. We will do it on the tour now.
