The mini-Scottish tour begins next week with Kinross, Glasgow, and then Yarrow. I’ll be touring as Kevin Montgomery. Seemed logical.

7528b9ea265774ae74cc155424d8278a2a3a0cceThe first show of the mini-Scottish tour will begin next friday in Kinross, Scotland at the lovely Backstage at the Green Hotel. Joining me on the tour will be “the kid” on steel guitar, lap steel, and guitar………basically, anything with strings. The kid can play. Most of ya’ll know I’m a huge Jackson Browne fan, and one of my favourite elements of Jackson Browne is what David Lindley brings to the table. There is no one else that can touch the magic that Lindley brings to Jackson’s music, in my humble opinion.
For many years on record and on tour Al Perkins covered that role for me. Most recently, Scott Poley is covering it.
Not only is he “covering it”……but he is nailing it. Four guys have played steel on my records…….Doug Pettibone, Al Perkins, Dan Dugmore, and Bruce Bouton. Scott makes the effort to nail guys parts, and does it beautifully. He studied them and is now putting his own slant on things.
So, if you are anywhere near Scotland, and can get to a show in Kinross, Glasgow, or Yarrow……..then grab your tickets. There are about 10 left for Glasgow.
The Scottish dates:

Saturday, Feb. 6th-Glasgow, Scotland-The Glad Cafe-I love this place. It is owned and run by musicians and is a class act. There are a few tickets left. Grab yours today!
Sunday, Feb. 7th-Yarrow, Scotland-The Gordon Arms Hotel-I love this special spot in the world. This will be a matinee show at 3pm. This was the first venue I played in the Borders of Scotland. Speaking of Jackson Browne……….I reckon this is my ode to Jackson. We will play this.
