Last night’s show, and battling falling guitars………

by Kevin on December 30, 2009

Last night’s gig at King Tut’s in Glasgow renewed my sense of why I do what I do. It is very easy to get beaten down by the road, but a gig like last night’s can make everything make sense.
We were there with plenty of time to kill so we went for a walk on Buchanon Street……..the main shopping strip……had a bite to eat and a coffee, and then headed to soundcheck…….those moments can be rare on the road-a chance to explore a little.

Jill Jackson continues to amaze. She is funny….very quick-witted…….the perfect partner onstage. I arrived to the stage to find her bantering back and forth with some big, bald-headed, Glaswegian guys……..pretty much taking them apart in a good natured way…..they were actually good fun.
She played a couple of new songs that I hadn’t heard, so that was nice. Really fired up to be doing a couple of weeks worth of dates in the UK with her………wish there were more.

Didn’t get much sleep last night in the campervan out in front of King Tut’s last night………..road was too noisy, so have sort of been in a bad mood all day. I drove for about 3 hours and then retreated to the back bunk where I’ve been battling falling guitars and drums………half of the bunk is loaded with gear. I felt I needed some alone time…….alot on my mind.
We drove through some snow in the Borders area of Scotland……not too bad………

Road boredom is best battled with humor. Sean found this video today and played it while we rolled, so it will be the humor video of the day………
