“Let’s All Go to California” video-The Making

by Kevin on May 6, 2009

So, i’m having a beer at 12th and Porter with a longtime friend, George Flanigen. I asked him how much it would cost to get a low budget video made. He said about $2,500.

A few months later he hooked me up with a young director named Neil Lisk. George donated film, and Neil and his wife, Liz, put together an amazing day of shooting in Nashville. People worked for free, and extras came in from all over Nashville to help. It was a very generous thing on everyone’s part.

Jerry Dale McFadden very kindly donated his classic car for the day of filming.

The video ended up being played on CMT, VH1 Country, Top of the Pops 2, and GAC. Not bad for a low budget video.

I absolutely love this song and the video is excellent. Everything falls right into place. I especially love it being done in black and white!
