The Roadmap for the 2009 50 States in 50 Days tour
The 2009 50 States in 50 Days tour was completed successfully, and now the 2010 50 States in 50 Days tour is in the planning stages. Get in touch if you want to host a house concert!?
Ok folks, i started confirming dates last night for this year’s 50 States in 50 Days tour. Last year, Jill Jackson and i drove 22,000 miles in my truck, and flew the last three dates…….Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii. It was a crazy, fun thing to do. We had our adventures, and there were times when each secretly thought we might not make it, but we perservered.
For some odd reason, i’ve decided to do it again. The tour is like one big social media experiment. I am cobbling the tour together with the help from friends and fans on Twitter, Myspace, Facebook, and my regular email.
Last year, i started the tour with about 36 dates out of the 50 confirmed……..there were times when i literally booked a show for the very next day. For example, my Texas house concert that had been booked about 6 months in advance just disappeared on me. I couldn’t get the guy on the phone, on myspace, or email. He was quite frankly a jerk. But my friend Krista in Dallas came to my rescue and put on one of the best house concerts on the whole tour.
So, many of you have asked what the schedule is? So, here it is. If you see an open date in your state, or want to co-host (help with selling tickets) in your state, then please email me and let’s talk.
The tour will begin in Alaska on Saturday, Oct. 24th and end in Hawaii on Saturday, Dec. 12th.

Here are some ways that you can help:
1) Email me about booking a house concert on this tour. (see my “what is a house concert?” post)
2) Think of a venue that you think i would fit in well with, and email me.
3) Email me if you have a friend in another state that you think might host a house concert. On the last tour this was highly effective, and i was able to book a few with this method.
4) Sign up for my email list at http://www.kevinmontgomery.fanbridge.com. This is so important for the tour. The most important part is your zip code-make sure you provide it, so when i’m coming to your town i can email you beforehand.
5) If you have a myspace account, or a facebook account, then add me, but also with your friends. How? Click on and find the myspace or Facebook icon and click on it. You can then send it back to your blog, or bulletin post. This is a brilliant way to get the word out, especially on facebook. You can even use your email to forward this blog to your email list. Try it! Help
6) Consider making a donation for gas, printing t-shirts, cds, and various costs!!! You can do that with paypal:
The last tour was amazing experience, and we videoblogged most days. I’m hoping 2009 will be even bigger and better. Check out the videologues from the 2008 tour here. Thanks for reading and hope to see you soon! I cannot do this tour without everyone’s help.
Any ideas?
