I wanted to post this very quickly before i go away for the weekend.
Songs in the Sun in Crete is happening this year. It will take place June 16th-23rd. I’m not sure of the line-up this year at the moment. I’ve been speaking to Jill Jackson about attending, and just tonight spoke to a longtime friend that has played guitar for a major superstar for years………and he has expressed interest in coming.
Basically, i will have more details next week……….but if you fancy a week in the most fabulous, exotic getaway that you can imagine…..then come to Chania, Crete for this year’s Songs in the Sun.
I’ve now been to Crete about 9 times…….and stayed with Reg and Daphne Fairfoot in their Akrotiri Villas everytime. They are consummate hosts, and know the island like the back of their hands……they’ve been there thirty years.
Imagine coming to Crete………arriving……having some cocktails by the pool, and then having Reg and Daphne take the group of us…….usually about 20…..to one of their favorite tavernas……where the red carpet is laid out for us…….every night for a week!
On the friday and saturday night (19th and 20th)…….i will do two shows acoustically. My mystery partner will accompany me on those nights.
I’m not sure if we will do songwriter sessions this year, but depending upon the mystery partner……there may be guitar lessons/workshops available. If they are available, then i’ll do the songwriting workshops, too.
