The Day the Queen nearly ran over me…..seriously.

by Kevin on February 13, 2009

The Queen does actually drive herself, because one day last year she nearly ran over me. I was on a walk, listening to my ipod on what is commonly referred to as “the long walk”………….actually Great Windsor Park, or what could be considered the Queen’s front yard.                                                                           Normally, there are no cars on this walkway……..even bicycles are forbidden, but this day was different. I was walking along, and happened to be filming the castle for friends back home when i felt something behind me…..i swung the camera around just as Queen Elizabeth passed me in a Jaguar…..with one security guy in the passenger seat.                                                                                                     Ultimately, i’m not that impressed with the monarchy. I respect them, but to me they are just like anybody else, but it was pretty funny to me to have that close of an encounter to her. What is now even funnier is that since i’ve posted the video on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FN_P7L8VQBo it has had over 9,000 views, and a healthy amount of debate about whether or not it is actually the Queen.

People, my life is full. I have no reason to lie. It was in good fun, and i got it on film. The still shot from the video, and the video.

For the naysayers, here is a still shot from the video. It is obviously the Queen:     Here is the video:

Got to love the thrill in your voice! A good little story to tell people, I imagine!
